Hi, I really love puremix tutorials, I learned so much and always have fun to ! So, dear premix team, I have a request... since I am more and more interested by the use of microphones, depending of the type of room, the choice for the song, the choice of the microphone etc... I would love to have a bit more information on the sessions you are mixing in your wonderfull tutorials (for example a small comment with: acoustic guitar: two microphones at... distance, a U87 on the shoulder and a royer r121 on 12th fret, kick drum: a beyerdynamic m88 inside and a whatever outside, etc). Cheers !

I can't find Avid Space plugin in PT. Don't think that's a stock plugin. Or am I blind? Also, Mike's rough mix isn't in the download files. I'm new to Puremix, perhaps it's supposed to be like this?

Great video. Always interesting to watch Fab's choices and see that all the necessary processing is built right in to Pro Tools. Some very good production tips as well.

Very nice tuto; simple and effective. It's so easy to be a mixer! :)) Always amazing to feel what you don't say in the video, something called "experience" I guess. The way you always go to the rights tools, the right frequencies etc… So nice you share with us!

Obviously Fab has great knowledge and experience. This also was a helpful video in some ways... but we all know you're not gonna release this mix! It's so apparent that Mick G's rough mix has a much nicer top end specially on the hi-hat and I guess that's just because his used a better EQ... I truly appreciate the effort you guys make to put such great information on your site and I have learned a lot since I discovered puremix but please stop indirect advertising as you charge me to let me watch your videos! plug and mix, pro tools stock plugins that we are truly stuck in, Dangerous music...

Ok. Something just caught my eye and ear in this tutorial. It's when Fab works with the phase on drums (kick!). He delay the kick by 300samples which seems right BUT that time alignment still leaves the kick in and OH 180 degree out of phase. Wouldn't it have been even better to delay the kick in AND reverse the phase? That's what I would have done anyway.... And the SUBKICK is also 180 degree out of phase with the kick in and kick out. Am I missing something? Thanks anyway for great stems and videos! Cheers /Toby

There really couldn't be a better teacher than Fab. He puts philosophy and decision making in front of all the technical stuff, but explains the little details when it's important.
